Abstract

To promote further comparative discussion about legal education, this paper shares from the author’s four years of teaching Constitutional Law in the U.K., a longer-term foreign teaching opportunity. During this time, in addition to the author’s own teaching experience, the author had numerous opportunities to interact with a variety of British and foreign academics in U.K. higher education, as well as to read widely about the sector while working in it.

The paper unfolds by providing the context for teaching law at U.K. universities, addressing some key topics in teaching U.K. Constitutional Law, and discussing what may follow the study of U.K. Constitutional Law and sibling academic subjects for law students. Because of the author’s training and experience in the U.S., comparisons between U.K. and U.S. elements appear throughout.
